The uploader has been down for the at least 12 hours. It would be nice if admin provided some info on all these ongoing glitches. Don't bother checking the blog; it's silent on these issues.

The classic and beta uploaders still aren't working.

The classic uploader is working again with Firefox, but it still won't open with IE11.

The classic uploader is working again with IE11. So it looks like all the bugs have been fixed. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have IE8 and XP and yes it causes problems. Firefox also started to not work with the archive files. I tried utorrent - I saved the torrent file and directed utorrent to open it - the movie downloaded fine.
(It is really a Greek mu, not a u)
It has to be set up - port forwarding (PFConfig program), a temp directory while downloading, and a final directory, like c:\temp3 and c:\temp4. There may be other steps.
I have not used it recently so I forgot all the details.
But - to upgrade to Windows 7, for example -- many programs or hardware will not work, and many require reinstalling.
But yes, if I use Windows 7 on another computer, this site works OK. Space.com is another example of a site that seems to work much better in Windows 7. Otherwise things get hung up, with 99% CPU useage and a host of other strange glitches.

I'm afraid there's no alternative to dumping XP. On April 8th it becomes obsolete, and no longer supported By MS.
IE 8 is a badly outdated browser. I'm not surprised you have trouble with it.

I used and loved XP for years, but there's no doubt 7 pro 64 bit is a superior OS which is much more efficient at many functions, especially multitasking. BTW, 7 pro 64 bit will run many old XP-compatible programs. The 32 bit versions of 7 will not.
